Reavie First to Win with Titleist 909 Driver

July 28th, 2008

With his victory at the RBC Canadian Open over the weekend, Titleist ambassador Chez Reavie became the first player to win on the PGA Tour with a Titleist 909 driver. Use of the Titleist 909 drivers has continued to grow each week since being introduced on Tour back in June, including 17 in play at the RBC Canadian Open. Other Titleist ambassadors to put a new 909 driver in play on Tour include: Zach Johnson, Ryuji Imada, Davis Love III, Arron Oberholser, Troy Matteson, Dudley Hart, Tom Pernice, Jr., Brett Quigley, Bill Haas, Nicholas Thompson, and Webb Simpson.

Titleist 909 drivers will be available in select golf shops in October, full product details will be available on Titleist.com in September.

What size in cc will the 909DComp be, and when is it supposed to hit the market?

Bill wrote on August 20, 2008 at 3:22 pm

I know the information will be made available on the website in September, but when will the new 909s be available for ordering from authorized Titleist golf shops?

Greg Gibson wrote on August 15, 2008 at 6:51 pm

Will the 909 drivers be available with exotic shaft upgrades at release (i.e., Diamana White or Speeder 757)?

Justin wrote on August 15, 2008 at 11:36 am

I currently play a 7.5° 907D1. Is there going to be a head design similar in shape to the 907D1?

What is the difference between the 909DComp and the 909D2 and 909D3?

Sean Diller wrote on August 4, 2008 at 1:05 am

Can you please tell us if the Aldila VooDoo shaft that was used in the 909D2 to win in Reno this weekend is available to the public and is it going to be an option at the time of purchase? Also are the 909 fairways and hybrids going to also be available in October? Thank you Titleist, you are stacking up the wins in a matter of 2 weeks with the release of a new super driver like the 909D2. Can you also tell us if they can be pre-ordered and can fittings be done ahead of time?

I currently play a 907D1 with the stock Spec Grid 67 shaft in R flex. My driver swing speed is 86-91 mph. I love the forgiveness of the club. What will be the new 909 replacement for the 907D1, and what are its improvements?

Does this mean it will not come with interchangeable shaft options or will Authorized dealers have a cart where you will be able to get fitted before you buy an assembled club?
