Just wanted to say that the new Titleist Z•Ms rock; just an awesome iron. I got them on Saturday and shot my lowest round to date on Sunday. They seem a little more forgiving than the 695MBs; not sure if the enhanced "Z" has something to do with that but that trait is welcome in any event. Good job Titleist!

From Fordie:

While 8° is a bit low for maximum carry distance, it is a ball flight Martin is comfortable with. Martin tends to be a little steep with the driver and as a result can launch it a little lower than optimal. In order for him to get 12° launch, it would most likely require a technique change and that was not our goal during this session. This ball flight has served him well so far (#21 World Ranking) and is one that he can control, particularly in windy conditions. And if he needs to hit it a bit higher, he can still achieve that without having a driver that provides too much spin.

Isn't an 8° launch angle a little bit too low? Or is he just one of those players that prefers to keep it low? Wouldn't he gain both accuracy and length by increasing the launch to around 12°?

Martin was not under contract with us prior to this year, so he previously played another manufacturer's irons.

Fordie fit him into 8.5° 905R with a UST Accra Axiv XC 65 X-flex shaft at 45¼". Martin wanted to work with the driver a little more before gaming it, though.

Great look at Kaymer's clubs. Was he playing the 695MBs? If so, what would he say is the difference between the 695MBs and the new Z Muscle Forged?

Hey guys,

Great stuff on a fast moving world ranked player. Did Fordie prescribe an optimal driver fit?
