What Do You Want to See?

July 30th, 2007

Well, we’ve been blogging from the Tour now for a little over four months…in fact, it all started at the last World Golf Championships event down in Miami at the end of March! We thought we’d take the opportunity at this week’s World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational to check in with everyone to see how we’re doing. What would you like to see more of? Which of our Titleist ambassadors would you like to see get more coverage? Anything else that we could be doing better?

Thanks for all the great comments and questions…keep them coming!

I’m a Cedar Rapids, Iowa guy…so we take all the Zach Johnson we can get. Thanks.

I’d like to see more on Nick Watney and Bill Haas. Also, keep up the great work with the slide shows!

I’d like to see more about Adam Scott. Equipment choices and how or why modifications are made. I really enjoy the interviews from the players on your site. Thanks.

More DL3. More of Davis’ bag and what kind of tweaks the guys do to their irons and woods (i.e., lead tape, bending, grip tape, etc). This blog is a great idea. Thanks a lot!

Love what you guys are doing! It would be great to see a highlight on a different Titleist Ambassador/Player (Male and Female) every other week. Love the “What’s In The Players Bag”! Thanks to all of your staff!

Josh wrote on August 3, 2007 at 4:06 pm

I second the post regarding wedge grinds. More info on which grinds suit which players and conditions would be great as well as what each grind is designed to do or enhance. More pics/info about bending drivers and fairway woods would be great also. This is a great service, thanks.

As a PGA Member, I would also love to see a feature or two on the PGA Members playing in the PGA Championship next week. Some info on their equipment and why they play what they play. Also, with your Tour staff, it would be great to see how they are fit for their equipment, whether it be drivers, long game clubs, irons or wedges. Some in-depth photos of a fitting session would be awesome. Thank you so much for this website!

I like the idea of the “day in the life” sort of thing. A walk through a player’s day in a tournament - from when he arrives to when he leaves.

Ryan wrote on August 1, 2007 at 7:40 pm

More of the same guys, you’re doing a fantastic job. I agree with Michael, though, it’d be great to see a feature on each of your ambassadors. What they’re playing, why they’re playing it, what are their specs, what do they carry (aside from clubs) in their bags, what sorts of superstitions/routines they might have, etc. Like an in-depth What’s in the Bag with each of your ambassadors. I think we’d all enjoy that a great deal. Aside from that, thank you! Keep up the good work!

More Charley Hoffman…he is the best!

david wrote on August 1, 2007 at 12:10 pm

I’d love to see a day in the life sort of thing, maybe what the players go through from when they arrive at the course through the round. Is it straight to the locker room to the range to the course? Are there other obligations they have? What are the different routines the different guys (and gals) have? And how does Titleist work with them in what I’m sure is a hectic day.

I have been saying it over and over again, but I would love to see something having to do with Tommy Armour III. He has been a long time player of Titleist equipment and I think one of the most talented guys you have even though his wins record doesn’t show it. Anything to do with TAIII would be fantastic.

Michael wrote on August 1, 2007 at 11:49 am

Thank you for such a great website. I check it daily for new content. I would love to see a feature on each of your Titleist Tour Staff. Included would be detailed bag photos, why they chose certain equipment models, etc. Thank you very much. Also, include a feature on George McNeill, especially after his great play at the Canadian Open. Thanks and keep up the great site.

Same as above…in the bag…also it would be great to see all the special touches to the Tour players’ clubs! Like initials and special stamps…

I think it’d be great to see the behind-the-scenes work of Adam and his equipment team. It’d be nice to perhaps get a glimpse on how he works with his equipment and finds out what best suits him. If it’s possible, it’d be great to have more off-course interviews with the Titleist players.

Anastasia wrote on July 31, 2007 at 9:26 pm

I would love more of Adam behind the scenes. He’s my favorite player. Thanks for keeping up the good work Titleist.

Aust Jampolis wrote on July 31, 2007 at 5:34 pm

In the bag, Tour players’ equipment.

Dave wrote on July 31, 2007 at 4:11 pm

I agree with the previous posters on the “more Adam Scott” idea; he’s my favorite player on Tour right now. Personally, I would like to see more information regarding the launch conditions of various Titleist players (i.e., clubhead speed, ball speed, launch angle, and spin rate) to get a better idea of how they compare to the “average golfer”.

Craig wrote on August 1, 2007 at 12:12 pm

I also would like to see the launch conditions of the players. And subsequently, if they make any changes (clubhead, shaft, etc.), what the effect was on the launch conditions.

AJ wrote on July 31, 2007 at 3:48 pm

I would like specifics on which clubs guys are playing. Not just the type of heads, but which shafts they have in all their clubs, including irons and wedges.

Gracie wrote on July 31, 2007 at 1:36 pm

More of Adam Scott, please. Anything about him from his off-the-course routines to his bag or ‘a day in the life…’ kinda thing would be good.

Dan wrote on July 31, 2007 at 12:22 pm

Some coverage of Duffy Waldorf would be nice, and what he plays would be good, too.

Jon wrote on July 31, 2007 at 11:31 am

I love what you guys are doing! Please keep it up. I like being able to see what’s going on with the Tour Van guys and with the Titleist ambassadors. Is there any way you can blog more about the interaction you guys have with the players? I love all of the behind-the-scenes action in the Tour Van and what the pros have in the bag. More is always better. Steve, Voke, you guys are awesome! I am a Titleist loyalist all the way!

Christopher wrote on July 30, 2007 at 11:03 pm

More into the life of Adam Scott is a must - especially since he’s your ambassador! How often do you meet with Adam outside your weekly tournaments? What about some behind the scenes stuff at the Titleist headquarters?? Making of the clubs / balls? All in all this has been a tremendous blog! Great work - keep it up! Thanks!

Rob wrote on July 30, 2007 at 10:57 pm

As far as players go how about Johnson Wagner, Bob Heintz or Troy Matteson? How about a story on someone using the launch monitor to test new drivers? One thing I would like to see is more detailed pictures of the guys’ bags, more close-ups. Thanks for the great blog!

Brad Cloke wrote on July 30, 2007 at 9:34 pm

I love to see the Tour Van and the Tech Reps in action. The ambassadors that I would love to see more of are Adam Scott and Brad Faxon. (Mostly Adam though…)

Sean Manning wrote on July 30, 2007 at 9:05 pm

I agree with the Adam Scott stuff. You should also put stuff about some big AJGA tournaments or the US Amateur or something like that and also some more new equipment and the new style bags.

AK wrote on July 31, 2007 at 6:39 pm

Titleist would likely be unable to show anything from the AJGA or U.S. Amateur. Amateur status rules from the USGA and R&A state that any representation of endorsement by an amateur would violate amateur status. Because of that, any images they could provide would have to exclude the likeness of players. The equipment they would show at an amateur event would be similar to what is on Tour, so in order to protect the amateur golfers, I bet they’ll stick to showing the Tour. That being said…I’ve seen some awesome stuff in the bags of leading amateurs out there. If you ever get the chance to go to a top-tier amateur event, those guys get the goods!

Christian wrote on July 30, 2007 at 6:43 pm

I know you guys aren’t supposed to share information about new products, but I believe if you shared some stuff on up and coming products, it would be nice. Also, if you had some of the players blog it would be awesome. Thanks.

Dude wrote on July 30, 2007 at 5:37 pm

Love the behind the scenes pictures and insight. More Charley Hoffman would be awesome. He is a great ambassador for you guys because he stands out from the other pros, not to mention how well he has played this year. Thanks for keeping the blog so entertaining!

Ty Webber wrote on July 30, 2007 at 7:02 pm

Yes. For instance, why does Hoffman apply lead tape just above the ferrule and just below the grip? I would also like to see some pictures of the machines you use and some explanations of what they are used for. Also, how about some more detailed descriptions about wedge grinds and why a player chose the grind they are using?

SCOTT wrote on July 30, 2007 at 3:28 pm

I would love to see more on Adam Scott, like what he is playing this week or what is in the bag this week for Adam. Maybe more insights on his equipment and why he plays particular lofts, etc. I would also like something with Brad Faxon. Haven’t seen much on him or what is in his bag. I love Titleist and I love these guys as well the rest of the ambassadors. Thanks for the blog.

Ty Webber wrote on July 30, 2007 at 2:25 pm

I would like to see more behind the scenes inside the Tour van. More shots of tweaking metal woods for loft and lie and internal weighting and more detailed specs of players bags. What they did to a certain shaft and why they did it or chose it. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Dave wrote on July 30, 2007 at 3:11 pm

Detailed information on the specs of Adam Scott’s clubs or something of that nature.

Scott wrote on July 30, 2007 at 2:25 pm

More of the same. The slideshows are great. I would like to see more what’s in the bag photos. Also, which Titleist equipment (other than clubs) are players using?

Ken W wrote on July 30, 2007 at 2:17 pm

More Adam Scott, some lady ambassadors maybe, and you should put me on there for sure!

ben wrote on July 30, 2007 at 2:12 pm

Prototypes, maybe some film with Adam Scott testing new products, and close-ups of not only the clubs but what they keep inside the bag. Great job guys.

Josh wrote on July 30, 2007 at 2:02 pm

You guys are going a great job. The bag pics and pics of the new equipment are always a favorite. Also, hearing about how guys are changing their set compositions and specs depending on course conditions is always interesting. Keep up the good work and keep the information flowing. Thank you.

Jon MIller wrote on July 30, 2007 at 1:55 pm

More Adam Scott and Zach Johnson, please. I love the behind the scenes stuff!

Joe W wrote on August 4, 2007 at 2:37 am

I know Titleist dominates the amateur championships in clubs, balls, hats, etc. I think it’d be cool to show a lot of what those guys use. Other than that, bag checks on guys like Bill Haas, Charley Hoffman, and week to week on guys like Adam Scott, who seems to tinker quite a bit. I think the more WITB, the better.
