It’s a tradition for The Masters champion to donate a piece of his winning equipment to Augusta National. Zach told me yesterday that he planned on donating his Vokey Design 54° wedge, the same one he used to chip the ball to tap-in range on the final hole. He hit a lot of great shots with that club, but the last chip is the one that everybody will remember. This will be at least the second Vokey Design wedge in the trophy case as the 2003 champion donated one of his as well.

As you can imagine it has been a whirlwind few days for Zach Johnson. He is a genuinely nice kid with a great future. He isn’t kidding when he says this whole Masters victory is surreal. I mentioned in a post last week that I wouldn’t be surprised if Zach posted a Top 10 at The Masters. I guess he proved me right in a big way! He made a point to stop by the Titleist Tour Trailer Wednesday to thank everybody for the continued support he has received from the Tour Leadership team, “except The Voke. He hasn’t done anything.” We all had a good laugh.
